Our first attempt at PPP was denied because we hire mostly seasonal. Apparently the rules changed so we applied again and were approved but a cap on the amount was applied. Our first attempt at PPP was denied because we hire mostly seasonal. Apparently the rules changed so we applied again and were approved but a cap on the amount was applied. The cap did not cover the seasons wages for one employee and we hire an additional four for the season. The process to apply was cumbersome and time consuming. We are still waiting for the bank we applied through(Wells Fargo) to produce the required application forms to convert the money to a grant. If we get stuck paying this money back it will impact our ability to survive. We also got approved for aid thru the SBA but it turns out it was for a loan at 3.75% for 30 years. At age 72 I don't see this as any type of help to survive only an extra burden to take on during a trying time. We ultimately turned it down. If it turns out the "help" our government is proposing will actually help and not increase the burden we will consider applying. There are a lot of comments I could make regarding our disfunctional government right now but I don't think it helps anyones situation.

As concern for employee and customer safety is a priority we provide face masks hand sanitizer disposable gloves and anti-viral wipes for all to use and ask that anyone entering our gift shop wear a face covering at all times. Being classified as a non essential business(Gift Shop) this was the only way we could reopen under mandates in place. At that with being closed for over two months we are uncertain if we will survive the season. We operate in an area that is heavily depend on the tourist industry and sports/commercial fishing.
Because we have seasonal employees we were capped. Every little bit helps but it will only pay part of one seasonal workers wage. What we need is customer flow. Using social media hasn’t made a difference.

We are currently working with our reps and vendors either reducing orders or canceling them. They have been very supportive of us during this time by delaying shipping dates/extending net payments. We hope to be able to open for business on the first of May. In addition to the virus the airline...

We hope to be able to open for business on the first of May. In addition to the virus the airline company that services the terminal we are in went bankrupt and shut down all operations. Because we hire mostly seasonal workers getting PPP assistance has been virtually impossible.We have a pending application in the system but very doubeful if we will ever see anything. We depend heavily on the commercial fishing industry and tourism in our area. Most of the lodges are not going to operate this season and the restrictions the commercial fishing operations are under to be able to operate will severly curtail our customer flow.

We are concerned because our season relies on the travel industry. If no one is allowed to travel our season will be 100% impacted.
