I would suggest that employers review employee benefits AT LEAST annually.  They don't have to be changed, but at least reviewed.  Employee benefits are not just group health plans.  There are also affordable group life plans, long term and short term disability plans, to mention just a couple.

In New York, there are some very affordable employee benefits that can be implemented that make an employer a big hero to his/her employees that can be added with a lot of fanfare.  You get happy employees and hopefully increased productivity.
