A 3D walkthrough is a technology that allows a buyer to view the interiors of the buildings and plan of construction. It is not a virtual tour, which is a video. A 3D walkthrough creates a visual display of the property to scale and brings it to life through digital rendering. While you can get a feel for a home's features from a video walkthrough as a virtual tour, a 3D digital rendering gives you a sense of the space.
A virtual tour is the primary method used to showcase properties since the expense is minimal in comparison to a 3D rendering. A virtual tour cost is approx $100 - $200 and a 3D rending is $1000 to $2000 for an interior display and the same cost for the exterior. So it can be as much as $5000 for one property.
At this time a 3D rendering is used for very high end properties,although as real estate technology develops in the future and the cost declines the 3D walkthrough will eventually become a new standard.
