The best possibility way to handle this situation is to be the bigger person. I know it’s hard to do. I have been in your shoes, just recently actually and it’s no fun. I’m a person of faith as well. There are many who have been seeking employment for such a long time and become desperate. Those are the ones that will apply, but will not stay long. It’s just something to do for the time being until something better comes along. The same company will find themselves seeking another. This would not happen if they pay the individual what they are worth in the beginning.

Always do what you say you are going to do. The smallest thing can mean so much to someone else. Especially a candidate when they are seeking a job. Always keep them in the loop and make sure they know they are not just another number.
