About Us

At Forever Kittens Cattery, we are hobby breeders. That means our cats are our pets first, and have babies second. We have very few litters per year, we are small and intend to keep it that way. While it does make waiting for that perfect kitten a bit longer, it helps to ensure the health and well -being of each kitten that leaves Forever Kittens Cattery for his or her new home.

We specialize in breeding Highlander and Napoleon/Minuet Cats. Highlanders have the look of the wild, and the heart of the tame.

Napoleon/Minuets look like miniature doll faced Persian cats on short little legs.

All of our cats and kittens are TICA registered. Because we have such a small program, we were able to be very selective in choosing our breeding pair for each breed. This helps to ensure that we are able to offer quality bloodlines, known for their robust health, and wonderful temperament.

Forever Kittens Cattery has worked very hard with other breeders to do what is best for the breed first and what the people want second. Sometimes this means waiting a little bit longer for the kitten of your dreams, but it is well worth it when you take home that little bundle of furr!

How We Got Started

I became enamored with the the curled ears of the Highlander cats, and the tiny stature of the Napoleon/Minuet cat. I owned/operated an Equine training and breeding facility for many years, and when I downsized, I realized how much I missed the interaction with the clients. I chose a smaller animal due to the smaller space.

(more) I know you are mostly interested in small businesses; However, if you can talk to the security people, or HR at a local factory, you have 1000's of people that will be knocking on your door. People tend to prefer humans rather than the "block" type places. Everyone has heard that an accountant is twice as expensive as the local "tax place" That isn't always true. In some cases, it's the opposite. The biggest perk the "tax places" offer is paying with your refund, and getting your refund money fast, and putting the refund money on a green dot card, or one of those visa type cards. People want their refund immediately. The factories are a great place to start because many of the people that work in factories, also have a side business. They go to the tax places. Personalize it, let them know that you treat everyone as an individual, not a number. Treat them like family, not a simple tax situation. A real big concern for these people is how to itemize their expenses and the new laws. Let them know up front you are very aware of the new laws, and you can explain to them how those new laws will be affecting them this year and the following years. Let them know about the extenders (they won't know what that means, but when you explain it they will be over whelmed with your savvy) Every tax company out there says "We will get you the biggest refund for your hard earned money" So, you have to show them that of-COURSE you will be doing that, but you are not just some person plugging numbers into a program, you have skill, education and knowledge behind you. If you can just hang a flyer at a factory that's a nice start. If you can talk to HR and get them to put it as an ad on their internal computer system... you will certainly gain new clients. Most people don't know about the internal ads on the company computer system. So, now you have a magic "in."

I respond with something like "That's wonderful! I am so happy to hear that you are doing research before committing!" I let them know that we are always happy to have a new Highlander Lover on board, and I tell them a bit about the groups I am part of. I let them know that we are here to help, and that we are happy to guide them along the way, and if we don't have exactly what they want, we probably know someone who does. The idea is that we are promoting the Breed itself, not trying to "make the sale." Quite often after speaking with me, I do get a return call and they do purchase from me. I have found that if I give them all the paper work that I include with purchase, they don't buy. I think it's because everyone likes to get something for free, if I hand it out prior to a sale, they seem to lose respect for the whole deal. So, I have learned to be as forthcoming and transparent as possible verbally and give out very little physical stuff prior them purchasing from myself. I am in a network of Highlander breeders, so most often, I really can find what they are looking for if I don't have it. This gets the breed in peoples homes, and allows others to be aware that it's even a thing. Goal accomplished.
