(more) The most satisfying aspect of being a Martial Arts instructor - for me, anyway - is to have an opportunity to be a positive influence in other people's lives, particularly children, and help them learn to honestly care about themselves and have the courage to stand up for themselves if necessary. I grew up being bullied; it's no way to live, and it eventually sucks the true joy out of everything else. That's no way to live. But once I found my strength through (legitimate) Martial Arts training, my life turned around and I was never intimidated again. Beyond that, though, I'd imagine that every sincere teacher feels the same way about imparting a sense of strength and accomplishment to their students, regardless of what their chosen field of expertise may be. Knowledge is power. Ignorance leads to fear and failure. What a blessing it is to be in a position to guide others in the right direction.
