Carol Huffman
from Carol Huffman Appraisals & Real Estate Services
I have never heard of this practice in my market in Arkansas/ Oklahoma. If they are charging more than $10 a month, its a scam. Hot water tanks are not that difficult to install, cost between $300-$500 plus installation. If they install an oversized tank, you will be spending more money on the utility. And when the house sells, does that cost continue with the new owner? Does it affect the appraisal ? is it considered personal property?
