I'm on my second business start-up now, and my biggest lesson is to keep the goal the goal. Don't let the world shift your focus. Don't let the world sell you their vision of your success.

Great advice! and that means you have to KNOW what your goal is as well! Specifically.... I will reach my goal by (date) and it will specifically look like this....

I agree, we need to be clear about what the goal is and how we attain/maintain that state. But, that goal should be personal. Not what someone else tells us the goal should be, but what suits us.
