House of the Rising Star Art Studio is the name of a Landenberg, Pa. based ceramics and painting studio featuring the work of artist Karen O'Lone-Hahn.
Karen creates one of a kind ceramic pieces from both stoneware and porcelain clay. Each piece is either thrown on the potters wheel or hand built and uniquely decorated. Her work is almost always functional and meant to provide objects which inject delicate beauty into their everyday function. Karen's paintings are a reflection of the humor and whimsy which lives inside of her and bring smiles to the people who see them. Her work is the product of an unfettered imagination and boldness to paint her delightful world which she calls "Folk Art meets Surrealism."

I have been a painter since high school becoming known over the years for my "primitive" and folk art style as a primarily self taught artist. I have sold paintings and prints all over the world, been featured in newspaper articles, magazines, and national art shows. I have won awards and my work is in the collections of private homes as well as hospitals and corporations. Seven years ago, I got involved in pottery and a slow burn quickly turned into a raging fire.I have spent these years growing and learning in the ceramics field and finally coming into my own ceramic style which matches my unique unique painterly vision.
