"I consider Niko's to be one of the very best restaurants in town. The food is always excellent, but the staff are absolutely wonderful. How many places can you go, where the wait staff will take time to actually get to know you, what things you like on the menu, or talk to you about your day or your life? The staff at Niko's do that. Enjoy a fantastic meal and know that you will be cared for."

"He Who Knows-Not But Knows that He Knows is a Fool--Shun Him. He Who Knows And Knows that He Knows is Wise--Follow Him. Ignorance & Arrogance Are Double Deadly. Humility is An Antidote."
The key words here are the last two clauses: Both arrogance and ignorance are equally deadly and that humility is the key to wisdom.
Therefore: It is a wise wo/man who knows that s/he is a fool; it is a fool who thinks s/he is a wise man... Consequently, follow the wise wo/man who knows that s/he is a fool, because s/he knows that s/he does not know all, and that what s/he knows is like licking the tip of an iceberg of all that is possible to know. Follow not the wise wo/man who 'knows' that s/he is wise...because that is the path of delusion.
Shakespeare was correct..."there is more in heav'n and earth Horatio, than is dream't of in your philosophies"
True wisdom is found in the humility born within the unrelenting crucible of experience and knowledge.

Couldn't agree more. Your message is powerful, precise and accurate. None of us stand alone, although we may think that we are going it alone. I thrive because my clients thrive and together we build synergy and a broadening network. We are a community, mutually dependent and supporting. Being in business really isn't about the money (although that helps :)), it is about building connections, providing real service and offering something of value in the world. Thank you so much for your inspiring words today.

Three things: One. Create a universal healthcare system where everyone can gain equal access to the same levels of health care, regardless of their financial status or insurance plan. Two. Create a system that emphasizes wellness care rather than symptom management. If we spent more time staying well, rather than treating sickness...well...really, just think about that one for a moment. Three. Create a system that emphasizes collaborative, integrated care in which the client is not a 'patient' who is told what they need to do, but is an active participant in the process. Needless to say, this requires more time in each practitioner's office and a degree of education, so that the clients can understand what they are experiencing and can make informed decisions as to the appropriate sorts of care. As an acupuncturist, my average client visit is an hour, an initial visit is normally about ninety minutes. I do a lot of listening, and then I do considerable education, so that my clients understand the purpose of the treatment protocols that I am using. I also discuss what my clients can do for themselves at home. Yes, it means that I have a limited number of client I can see in a given day, but to me, that's worth it.
I am still learning what my business looks like on a year-to-year basis, but my client load and income have both more than doubled over the same time period compared to this month last year.

I have been on a lifelong journey of learning. I started out life as a geologist and a martial artist. Both of these led naturally and unequivocally to the healing arts...looking for holistic balance and wellness in all things. So when I had the opportunity to take early retirement from my academic job as a geologist, and sold my martial arts business, I put myself back in school to get a degree in Oriental Medicine. I came to Wyoming once I graduated, because I was getting in on the ground floor of the acupuncture licensing process in the State and also moving to an under-served community that lives close to nature.
In a nutshell then, I was drawn to the healing arts because I seek balance and wellness for myself and those around me. I want to be of service, in a compassionate and understanding environment that looks at each client as a whole person and as an integral part of the environment in which we move.

When I meet a new business client, I want to get to know them, not barrage them with my wants and needs. I want to know my business contacts, what motivates them to do what they do in the world? How can what I do as a business help them do that? How can we help each other? If I truly listen, there exists the possibility of resonance, that my new business contact will be heard, and validated.

I am relatively new to Laramie, having only moved here in December 2016, so I knew no-one in the Laramie business community when I arrived to set up my practice.
I like Alignable. A lot. I have linked with local businesses, met local business owners, and been pleased to give my business to them (specifically brochure printing, business photography etc). I have also linked with other Oriental Medical practices around the country and routinely refer clients who are not long-term residents of Laramie to other practitioners. Additionally, I have friends in other parts of the country who have asked me if I know a practitioner in their local area. I am happy to refer them to contacts I have in Alignable.
So does Alignable work? Yes. Is it a waste of time? Not if you are willing to foster connections with people. For sure some business owners do not reply, but it has been my experience that many of them do. I guess it's like anything else, what you put in, is what you get out.

Without doubt, what is most precious to me is being of service to real people and offering them something of value. It's all about real, personal contact and relationship-building for me. Too often people seeking help in an overwhelmed health care system do not find a forum in which they can be truly heard. Given the way I have structured my business, I have the freedom to spend time with my clients, listen to what they have to say, and build an accurate diagnosis, so that together we can develop viable, holistic treatment plan.
I truly love what I do, and I am thrilled to be a part of the health care system, to offer services within my scope of practice and to be a facilitator and catalyst for enduring wellness for my clients. Also, (and this but has me really excited about being in Laramie)...most recently, Wyoming became an Acupuncture Practice Act State, which means that acupuncturists MUST be licensed. It is a huge step forward for the State, for the health care industry in general and for those who seek holistic, affordable, quality care.
