What causes a large negative balance on Quickbooks accounts receivable account?

People who record all deposits to Accounts Receivable when there are no invoices generated in QuickBooks, usually happens when you use a separate billing software. Or when you invoice out of a pad and collect cash or CC payments on the spot as the invoices are not generated and so when the... (more) People who record all deposits to Accounts Receivable when there are no invoices generated in QuickBooks, usually happens when you use a separate billing software. Or when you invoice out of a pad and collect cash or CC payments on the spot as the invoices are not generated and so when the deposits hit A/R then decrease the amount awed below zero and there is no one who is correcting this. You need to probable debit A/R and credit income...... Bad news for the tax bill but Uncle Sam is happy.

Fire them ASAP. Fraud is not a mistake it is a deeper problem in ones set of values and ethics. If they are willing to still you fire them and call the police and press charges or they will keep doing it again and again. The IRS will do little to help and the police will just take the police... If they are willing to still you fire them and call the police and press charges or they will keep doing it again and again. The IRS will do little to help and the police will just take the police report and then possible not even pursue but then the complaint has been filed and pattern of behavior has been documented. You will get little out of it, but possible save the next person.
