About Us
Mooch's Munchies is a specialty dog cookie bakery. We wanted to make sure that what we feed dogs was pure quality, no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. We work to make everyday treats that are of extrodinary quality. All our cookies are cut by hand and baked to a biscotti crunch so they will have a longer shelf life despite having no preservatives.
How We Got Started
My husband and I were concerned about the garbage that the pet food industry uses in their food and treats. We determined that we wanted to make a treat that was free of by-products, fillers and unnatural ingredients. Knowing that there were already dog bakeries in abundance we wanted to take it a step higher. We knew that wheat is something that dogs don't process well, so we decided to go gluten-free with our product. We use organic honey instead of sugar or corn syrup, even though that would be less expensive, it isn't good for the dogs. The well being and longevity of our pets is our primary goal. We believe our pets are worth it.

That is a good question and one that bears a lot of thought. Because of the business we are in, we have different types of competitors. Some of our competitors are national brands which we don't have a lot of faith in and are part of the reason we started our business. We definitely would not promote or recommend them. We make dog treats and not every dog likes the same kind of treat, nor can I bake enough to feed them all! We have local competitors that make a healthy dog treat as well and if the pup isn't a fan of ours, we would recommend some of them.
Not all dog treats are a treat.
We use Facebook and Instagram and post not only about our products, but videos and pictures from around the internet and of our foster dogs. We want to have people look forward to seeing our posts not just consider them another advertisement to scroll past. We tried twitter but found it...

We want to have people look forward to seeing our posts not just consider them another advertisement to scroll past. We tried twitter but found it unresponsive and just not as friendly of an outlet. We also go to farmers markets and craft fairs weekly to sell our cookies. We try to always be a presence in the pet events here in Las Vegas. We have also advertised in Las Vegas Pet Scene Magazine.

There are times you just have to stand your ground. Let's face it, we aren't in business to give our things away. If we don't make a profit, we don't survive. That being said, make sure they understand the value of the goods or services that you offer and why the pricing is the way it is, and remind them that they get what they pay for. Going for something on the cheap usually means you will end up with inferior items or services. Many people, once they are convinced that they are not getting ripped off will concede to the price. Or it may be that they can't afford what you are offering at this time, but may be back at a later time. Best of luck.
