I’ve been doing bookkeeping for 20 years and have learned through experience and some high school classes. I thought when I decided to open my open company, it would be a good idea to have some formal education behind me. I signed up for an online bookkeeping certification program with Penn Foster and I’m surprised on how well it covers the basics. I do feel that it could use more hands on manual practice so you learn what’s happening behind the software but maybe there is not a necessity for it with software doing it all.
