Juris Nurse Consulting is a small "solopreneur" enterprise whose goal is to assist the attorney litigator with the medical aspects of their cases. Owner Lynda Waggoner is a nurse practitioner with dual certifications in psychiatric advanced practice nursing and advanced adult medical-surgical nursing. As a legal nurse consultant, Lynda brings a broad range of clinical practice experience to the table with years of nursing experience, including medical-surgical units, in-patient and outpatient psychiatry units, correctional facilities, chiropractic offices, and public mental health outpatient facilities.
1n 1995, before the legal nurse consulting profession was well-established, Lynda earned a paralegal certificate from the National Center for Paralegal Training (NCPT) and started her LNC career working in claims for a large long-term disability insurance carrier, and later worked for a large Atlanta Law Firm doing product liability work.
Lynda is the past President and Treasurer for the Gwinnett County Family Violence Task Force and also volunteered on the Fatality Review Committee. Lynda also trained and served as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center.
While in training as a student Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Lynda worked closely with clients in Gwinnett County Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and Veterans Court. She did her internship with the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office where she worked with Domestic Violence advocates.
After partially retiring from active clinical practice Lynda wanted to use her many years of nursing experience and education in a new way. In 2020, she started Juris Nurse Consulting. The mission of the company is to help attorneys interpret medical records, dig out the details, place them in context, and ultimately win their cases for their clients. Lynda now focuses on personal injury cases and those involving mental health issues.
