The majority of our clients use QuickBooks One Line Plus. We love it. The plus version does job costing and has classes and even inventory control, time sheets etc. We can help our clients from anywhere.

If you are asking what our accounting firm uses - we use CCH Practice to manage projects, time and billing and for the rest we use QuickBooks desk top.
Also - keep in mind that you should have liability insurance to mitigate most business risks. However if you own assets with significant equity you can protect them by incorporating your business.
