At Vintage Violet in Lewes you will find a collection of painted furniture, home decor, candles, clothing, tea and gifts, many of which are antique or vintage and upcycled by me. Styles include shabby chic, romantic, rustic, coastal, garden or European inspired decor. I showcase unique crafted products and art, designed and hand made in the USA by 15+ Female Entrepreneurs. When you shop at VV you are not only supporting my business but that of many other US and local women. My specialty products are Jeanne d'Arc Living's designer clothing, vintage paint, and European Home magazine from Denmark, Friend Zi hand blended French Powder, and NEW! Par Avion hand blended Teas ( a female run business in California)

I applied on the SBA site as soon as they announced that small businesses could apply for a loan. It was a very confusing application. Then they said they were coming out with a more simple application and to check a box it said you want a $10,000 advance and it would be forgivable. So I did that...

I applied on the SBA site as soon as they announced that small businesses could apply for a loan. It was a very confusing application. Then they said they were coming out with a more simple application and to check a box it said you want a $10,000 advance and it would be forgivable. So I did that right away. I did not hear anything back until about a week ago. I got an email saying that because of the shortage of money, They were only going to give $1000 for each employee I had before the disaster. Well I work alone I run my shop myself. So does that mean I would get $1000 or nothing? I don’t know I haven’t seen anything yet. So then I thought the PPP loan through a bank was only for businesses who had a payroll. Then I saw something on a senator site that said I could be eligible for it but before I could start on that SBA announced they weren’t taking any more applications. My fiancé’s business (HVAC) applied for the PPP since he did have a payroll but his bank -CITIZENS bank gave all the money to their big corporations they deal with and there’s nothing left for the small guys. He was able to get unemployment but I can’t because I’m a new business and hadn’t paid myself the first year, which is not unusual for small businesses. So that is our experience-pretty disappointing!
