About Us
What makes Barnhardt Insurance Group special is our ability to work with most any situation to help people gain the coverage that they need.
How We Got Started
I started with Aflac years ago and although it is a great company with excellent products, I saw the need to expand to offer more products for people with specific needs. I still represent Aflac and I am proud to do so but to be competitive and broaden my reach adding other companies was essential to my philosophy of HELPING PEOPLE to obtain the coverage that they need.

In my business, working from my home office is a great advantage. The companys that I am contracted with have stepped up their game as far as phone enrollments and zoom meetings are concerned. I miss the one on one contact but I am saving a lot of money on gas and associated expenses. Enhancing phone skills and taking advantage of networking opportunities. Gaining referrals through just asking for them. Everyone is making the best of this "New Norm" as it will be like this for a while and maybe forever.

Virtual IS our a reality now and the term "New Norm" is the buzz. This new norm will be the norm for a long time and even perhaps forever. Covid has impacted everyone and including the insurance industry. It has forced insurance companies to step up their game and preform as never before. Insurance agents used to make the comment "If You Get Cancer", now they say "When You Get Cancer" which proves just how much times have changed. A year ago Covid wasn't even heard of and now it is all you hear about. The effect has been devastating. Insurance companies have added Covid to policys and riders which is great for the consumer and great for their marketing as well. In my business I want to always offer value to my clients. when people think of life and health insurance I want to be the one that they trust and call. I don't want to be just another face in the crowd, I want to be THE face in the crowd when it comes to adding value and protection for my clients. To me it is all about helping the client.

When challenging times come the rubber meets the road. You either fall by the wayside or you become creative and make it work despite the odds. In my business potential clients become skeptical because of all of the scams that are out there. "Cold Calling" is very hard to do now. Hard sell just does not work because people have been hit so hard with constant phone calls with someone on the other end trying to sell something. I get calls daily from people trying to sell me insurance. I already do that. I can't ignore the phone because it is my life's blood. Just imagine what you could get done if you didn't have your time wasted by salespeople. I have determined in my heart to further my reach by doing more networking. I want my face and business to be a familiar fixture on every zoom call. I want to be the person that people think of when they think about insurance but more that this I want them to look at me as a person that they know and trust. this will make all of the difference and will impact my business in the most positive way possible. Also understand that there is plenty of business out there for everyone. We just have to extract it. I have all of the tools in my toolbelt to help in most any insurance situation but I must not let them rust. I get up each morning and get ready for work just as if I was going out to see a client. I must admit that at the first covid related shut down that I didn't utilize the tools in my belt because like a lot of people I didn't think that it would last as long as it has. When it started to sink in that it was going to be around for a while, I realized that it was time to move forward and make this business work. I'm too far in to give up on it and I am determined to see a return on what I have invested. I've realized that "if it's to be, it is up to me". I have made so many friends this year and haven't even seen them in person. I have met more people for the first time than I have met in my entire insurance career. I have also realized that most people really care and want to help you to be successful, because for the most part we are all in the same boat! I have also put something into practice that I learned a very long time ago. If you want the business, ask for it. Offer value and sell yourself first. Never walk into a business empty handed. Since we can't "walk in" now we have to be on our game to offer value. Show the potential client the value that you offer them and give the choices, everyone likes choices. This does not make you weak or seem needy it makes makes you seem confident and honest. Everyone knows that you have to have business to have a business. There is nothing new under the sun in sales so stop looking for it. Find what works for you and use it. Make it your on, polish it, do it in front of your mirror or your peers. don't spend your time trying to be someone that you aren't. Be you and work on you. You will be successful.
I am looking forward to new doors being opened and walking through the ones that have already opened. Using the referrals received and to give referrals to my networking partners.

Although you would think that the pandemic would cause clients or potential clients to be a little more serious about their coverage, I have found that this is just not the case. Very few insurance companies include Covid 19 in their coverage. Aflac has just expended coverage to include Covid 19 on some of their policys. I personally think that other companies will follow suit from a sales aspect as the awareness and spread of this virus becomes more and more prevalent or common. This virus has pushed all insurance companies to step up their game and make virtual and phone enrollments part of an agent's every day life. A lot of businesses will not allow face to face contact and most do not like phone calls especially if you are marketing an insurance product. Reaching the decision maker has never been easy but over the phone is sometimes impossible. The challenge is real to all agencies and independent insurance professionals to come up with scripts for phone approaches to have a consultative interview or just a conversation. "No" has never been as common as it is now.
