If I was looking for a NEW Tax professional, could I expect full time services or is that an overreach today?

I operate my own tax service......have for 30 years......and I chose to do this so I could offer the types of service that other businesses don't seem to want to.....
I individualize my services to meet the needs of my customers. I also individualize pricing on accounting services depending upon the needs of my customers. Why should my customers pay for services they do not want just because its a "package deal"?

Congratulations on your longevity, Suzanne. You have obviously found an area that you excel at and are successful.
In my experience, some companies need more than one type of service and can benefit from other services they may not realize they need. Tax filings and payroll seem to be the biggest request for many of the small firms I have worked for and bundling these into monthly services helps my clients to budget their monthly costs and I know what I am bringing in for my services. Some months, when my clients are a bit busier, my hourly rate drops because my workload will be heavier and I have set pricing. Other months, when my clients are slower, it takes less time to complete what they need and I am better off. It all averages out and my clients and I are able to budget more effectively. The important thing is to make sure that your client knows what you will be covering with the agreement and that you will charge extra for anything outside of that. My clients are paying only for what they need/use throughout the year and have me available for additional work every month/quarter when they bring in their books. It is a system that works well for me and for my clients.
