About Us
For the past 40 years, Universal Consulting Group (UCG) Ltd. has worked hard to grow a reputation for quality design and precision execution of their plans. The company has always been based in Lloydminster, and is well versed in working with the code books of both provinces that the city straddles. Clients select UCG because we are able to handle a wide variety of projects.
The UCG team specializes in drafting services and has worked with structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers as well as Architects for several hundred varied projects. The company has also been involved with many commercial interior design projects which include interior color selections, flooring packages, and millwork and cabinetry specifications such as reception desks and sales counters.

How We Got Started
UCG Ltd. was incorporated in Alberta and in Saskatchewan in 1985 and 1986 respectively. The company has progressively evolved to provide architectural services and engineering procurement services in a variety of commercial and residential construction projects throughout the two provinces.

We do residential design in and around the Lloydminster Area, but have been know to stretch into BC and out to the East Coast upon request.

This is typically the season for starting new or renovation plans, March is one of our busiest months annually. This year March has been very quiet with all the preoccupation with COVID-19 as well as the low oil prices. If you can afford to build right now then we have the time to draft the plans :)

I love shopping local, being able to touch and smell the items that are a gift from the heart is important to me as well as supporting the businesses in my community that provide the shopping convenience that I would like to see continue for many years.

Working in the construction industry we've come across a lot of funny situations. Mostly, it's people just not knowing how our industry works, but one day a few years back, we had a client contact us (we design and procure engineering for homes, etc.) regarding his garage headroom.

Working in the construction industry we've come across a lot of funny situations. Mostly, it's people just not knowing how our industry works, but one day a few years back, we had a client contact us (we design and procure engineering for homes, etc.) regarding his garage headroom.
A beam was running across his garage (holding up his second floor) and was preventing him from driving his jacked up truck into his garage.
As innocent as could be, he asked if it would be alright to cut a notch in the beam large enough for his truck to pass under! Lol! Beams are the size they are for a reason!
The work I do has varied so much over the years that it has kept it fresh and exciting for me. There are always new challenges and new clients with new ideas
in the design world so it never gets boring! I'm always learning and growing in this constantly evolving field, who wouldn't love that!
