They take pride and passion in everything they do and that shows in every pour you get from this vineyard. If you have not yet sampled wines from this amazing vineyard you are truly missing out on some of the best wine in this region. ”

About Us

Kessler-Haak Vineyard is located on HWY 246, 11 miles west of Buellton. Planted in 2005 by winergrower/winemaker Dan Kessler and his wife Ellen Haak (hawk) Kessler, their 30 acre vineyard is dedicated to the production of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah for Kessler-Haak wines and a few select winemakers focusing on vineyard desigated wines.

How We Got Started

A love for wine started Dan on a journey that took on a life of its own.

Drinking wine led to learning about wine, to making wine as a home winemaker and to planting 200 vines in his back yard.

Next came a Winemaker's Certificate from the first UC Davis Distance Learning program and a growing fondness for Pinot Noir.

He and Ellen fell in love with the Sta. Rita Hills region, purchased a 40 acre parcel and planted a 30 acre vineyard in 2005.

and the rest is history.....

As a small business, how can you be prepared to shut down?  Gee, the rent is still due (why don't they freeze having to pay rent?).  Those loans you had to take out for the last couple of lockdowns are still due (why don't they freeze loan  payments?).  I want the government to just leave me... We just built it ourselves using square space in an afternoon.  Aside from that, content was the biggest challenge.  check out the site and see what you can do yourself:  kesslerhaakwine.com (more) We just built it ourselves using square space in an afternoon.  Aside from that, content was the biggest challenge.  check out the site and see what you can do yourself:  kesslerhaakwine.com
