How We Got Started

Condensed and slightly restructured

I started a travel startup 2 years ago after being an Uber driver for about 5 years. Working for Uber was a great experience aside from the financial outlook. Overtime, I realized that each accomplishment I completed for Uber such as being among the 10 best marketers in driver recruitment and completing over 12,000 rides benefitted me little. The only compensation I received was an email or a snail mail letter, yet the company was growing to an astronomical level before my eyes. I asked myself, "what's the difference between being an Uber driver and driving on my own?" I realized it was the customers. Then I came to believe that if I could gather enough people looking to go places, I would not need Uber, so I started my own.

I am originally from Cameroon in Africa. I traveled and lived around the world before I set foot in Southern California a decade ago. Living in Los Angeles, where everyone is a traveler was the trigger

Many small businesses today rather rely on every little new marketing tool to grab the attention of a new audience but neglect their customer service. They forget to cater to prior customers even more than the new one, the word of mouth is still the most efficient means of marketing and one satisfied customer is more powerful than anything else. Small businesses also fall into the trap of delegating too many legs of their operations to third leg party so they can avoid the struggle of building their dream which is an expensive mistake long term. You started for the love of the project, fall in love with the pain it takes to build to so you can enjoy the benefit

Working for money was never a reach for me nor comforming to the norm of society that education is the key to success. I always felt it was the opposite, that society was a system and education the trap that lead you into a category so you could fit into the system for whom created it to enrich themselves. Don’t get me wrong I went to school and I worked for corporate America but the result was always the same, I was just a number that could be replaced the next day. I have a passion for driving so living in Los Angeles with the tech advancement that gave birth to Uber and many more, I figure I might put a twist into the game but focus more into travelers and exploring our neighborhood from the ground. We are so addicted to flying while to conditions to do so are getting worst by the day but still more expensive than before. Serving the world by taking traveler one step closer to their destination or exploring the world through sightseeing tours will be my contribution to the world. After all being a traveler by origin and having lived in many countries, I realize now that it was actually the best education I ever had, interacting with the world while living life. Think about me next time you land or depart from Los Angeles www.letsgo2app.com

If they are stealing, it means you are doing something good and they are lacking ideas. Keep track but keep on working on your business. The key to success is never the idea ultimately but who uses it so focus on your customer service and keep retaining clients. People do not run after innovations, they stick to what they used to if they feel a great deal of appreciation. I know my competitors but I could care less of what they doing. I never started my business to be rich but for the love of it. For me my competitors really have always been my customers, making sure they feel part of the team and have a ear to whisper. In this age, stealing has become the norm and the time and money it takes to fight it as a small business is not even worthy so nurture your mind to focus on you and your idea not what others do around it.

Offer promotion.  Some business may use affiliate marketing program to provide rewards program to customers for referring their friends to you. After service: once the service is delivered does not mean the job is over. Ask your customer about their experience using surveys or rating system, ultimately it will help improve your service

The service provided still float in their mind and if they enjoyed he experience, they will take the time to detailled their experience.  Text or email the customers once service delivered with your link to your review site.  Usually if after 24 hours, there is still no review left, resend the link. That will give them the impression that until the review is left, they will be reminded.  The fastest to live a review are always the unsatisfied customers so don’t let the customers you know have being satisfied get away too easy.  Don’t use only one review site so if an happy customer comes back, ask him if he will do you the favor and leave you a review. He might say “ I left one” tell him that will all the competition and customers gravitating in various platform, his words will impact your sale if he leave another. Don’t forget to give them a promo code. Nothing is free and you know it

Every travel agent sales flight tickets or accommodation. What can you offer more to make the experience personal? Travelers usually book months ahead of time, what if you also help them get their way to the airport and earn commission along the way. For travel agent in Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, San Diego & Santa Barbara let’s talk.  It’s all about making the experience more personal and show that you cares. info@letsgo2app.com
