I began in 1983 as a staffing recruiter with a degree in Bilingual (French) Business Administration. I founded and operated Market-Connections Personnel Services in Canada until 1992. In 1993, she began as a career coach and employment consultant in Southern California.

Approach your local colleges and universities and ask if you can leave your brochures/flyers in their career offices. Leave your business card everywhere you go. I remember during my very first week, I went to a job fair without going inside at all. I just stayed in the parking lot and left my business card on the windshield of every car. I joined women's organizations like ABWA and attended their networking events. I would go to almost any well-known organization that had a community board and would allow people to post their business cards (i.e.: library, Whole Foods, etc.) and I would continualy pin my business cards on those board. I used to contact local job fair organizers and ask them if I could contribute for free and provide free resume reviews to job seekers during the job fair. This is all in addition to posting content on FB and other social media platforms. Little by little I got the word out, picked up new clients and the marketing kept changing form and evolving.
When I started to look into learning these things, I thought there was going to be an answer with clear instructions to follow that would lead to increases in website traffic.... And we would all just follow those instructins and voila! But I have found that is not the case. The more I read and...

When I started to look into learning these things, I thought there was going to be an answer with clear instructions to follow that would lead to increases in website traffic.... And we would all just follow those instructins and voila! But I have found that is not the case. The more I read and the more I learned, I realized how little I knew. Nonetheless, I kept digging in to find ways to generate website traffic and I kept implementing new ideas. Over time, what I learned was that the answer wasn't in doing one specific thing or another but the key was in consistency and in tenacity to view the subject of "website traffic" as a new learning experience. With this new perspective, I learned about website design, blogging, online promotions, digital marketing, PR, events, professional contributions, offline advertising, and so much more. These were topics that I had no clue about at first. I tried and failed at many of them multiple times. Each time, I took what I had learned and tried again. Over time, it was a combination of all the above that proved effective in generating and increasing a steady flow of traffic to my website.

I would much rather have the prices listed for my customers to see and to choose from, than to have to repeat the same information on the phone multiple times. If you are worried about your competitors figuring out your pricing, here is a "reality check": They can still call you anonymously and take even more of your time to get your pricing from you on the phone.... So, I decided I would just list it online and let the customer decide... May be if I had a sales team, things might be different.

My business, has been an active Yelp Merchant since about 2012/2013. I have been a Yelper for an even longer time. Since I have become a Yelp Merchant, I have been recognized with their annual People Love Us on Yelp Award three times and I received more than a hundred reviews from my customers. About a year an half ago or less, I started advertising with Yelp. Since then, the incoming business from Yelp DROPPED lower and lower each month. Next, Yelp began to change the information on my business page without letting me know. i.e.: changing the geographic area I was serving, just to name one. There were a number of other surprises... Around Novermber 2018, Yelp filtered a massive amount of reviews from many businesses--selectively--and mine was one of them. Later, I saw a TV Report on this subject and I realized I was not the only one. I contacted them last week and asked them to stop running my ad. At this point, I think there are many better options available to us than Yelp.
