The Scriptwriters Network Foundation, Inc. (SWN), founded in 1986, is a tax-exempt, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting writers and industry professionals through education and community. We are dedicated to advancing the craft and business of writing across film, television, theater, digital media, and beyond.
SWN supports writers by offering educational programs, speaker events, script competitions, and other career-building opportunities. Our mission is to help writers understand the realities of the industry, improve their craft, and build meaningful connections through partnerships with working professionals.

Founded in 1986, SWN began as a small group of committed writers meeting to share scripts and support one another’s creative development.
