Chicago and Los Angeles Theatre Veteran Darryl Maximilian Robinson Shares An Encore Of His Debut Appearance On The Internet Performing Arts Television Show 'The Actor's Choice' Episode 2.37

Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago Founder Darryl Maximilian Robinson Appeared On The September 19, 2016 Edition of "The Actor's Choice" Episode 2.37 With Host Ron Brewington And Distinguished Fellow Guest John Ruskin of The Ruskin School of Acting In Santa Monica California.

It was 7 years ago this September when Chicago, St. Louis and Los Angeles veteran and award-winning stage actor and play director Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( The Founder of the multiracial non-Equity professional chamber theatre The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and The ESC Los Angeles Archival Project ) arrived at an intimate recording studio in the west portion of The City of Angels to appear as a Guest Actor on the Monday September 19, 2016 RMCONAIR performing arts television program "The Actor's Choice" ( Episode 2.37 ) hosted by skilled and veteran entertainment and arts reporter Ron Brewington, who was ably assisted by his talented young Videocameraman and Sound Technician Laron "L.P." Daviston for the production of the show.

Mr. Robinson knew he would appear during the second half-hour of the show following distinguished fellow Guest Actor John Ruskin (  The Founder of Santa Monica California's Ruskin School of Acting and The Ruskin Theatre Company  ).

A winner of both a 1997 Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citation Award for Outstanding Actor In A Principal Role In A Play and a 1997 Chicago Black Theatre Alliance Award nomination for Best Leading Actor In A Play for his performance as Sam Semela in The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago revival of Athol Fugard's 'Master Harold And The Boys' as well as a 1998 WKKC Radio Chicago Critic's Corner Fine Arts Award for Outstanding Director of A Play for his Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago revival of Samuel Beckett's 'Waiting for Godot' ( both mounted in the intimate confines of Rogers Park's much-missed Heartland Cafe Studio Theatre ), Darryl Maximilian Robinson was prepared to discuss multiple artistic endeavors of his multiracial chamber theater during its tenure in The Windy City.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson has become noted as the very first black actor in American Theatre History to portray on stage a trio of classic dramatic roles including: Sir Thomas More in Robert Bolt's "A Man For All Seasons" ( in a 1984 revival presented by The University Players of The University of Missouri-St. Louis and directed by AEA Member John Grassilli at The Benton Hall Theater ); King Henry II in a 1992 multiracial cast revival of James Goldman's "The Lion In Winter" ( directed by Mr. Robinson for his chamber theatre Excaliber Productions, Ltd in St. Louis and staged at The Wabash Triangle Cafe ); and Andrew Wyke ( opposite the talented actor Sean Nix as Milo Tindle ) in a 2000, 30th Anniversary, all-black cast revival of Anthony Shaffer's "Sleuth" presented under Mr. Robinson's direction by his chamber theatre The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago at The Harrison Street Galleries Studio Theatre of Oak Park, Illinois.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson was aware that photos and video-clips of some of his most recent  stage projects would be discussed ( including his performance as the debonair, but aging leading man Ernest in Tad Mosel's classic allegorical one-act of Life In Theatre "Impromptu" part of the 2016 Emmanuel Lutheran Actors' Theatre Ensemble - ELATE staging of a quartet of one-acts billed as "Just 4 Fun" at The Lincoln Stegman Theatre in North Hollywood CA. for which Mr. Robinson received a 2015 / 2016 Elate Season Ticket Holder Award Nomination as Best Actor ).

Mr. Robinson would also discuss his early training as a stage performer from his junior and senior high school days ( including shows from the west side of Chicago's Robert H. Lawrence Upper Grade Center to the north side's Albert G. Lane Technical High School to near downtown's Whitney M. Young High School for The Performing Arts to his four years of musical theatre performance training at various venues around The Windy City with such Chicago Board of Education Instructors and working performing artists J.J. Stamm, Errol Perlman, Lena McLin and Gerald H. Bailey of The Chicagoland High School Theatrical Troupe ).

What Mr. Robinson did not know however was how he would approach sharing his more than four decades of work in The Theatre with Mr. Brewington's listeners and viewers. But when his time for "the hot seat" arrived,  Mr. Robinson decided to share his history of working upon the stage with a sense of humor.

Currently streaming at Youtube.com, fans of artists of the live stage can view Mr. Robinson's notable debut interview during the second half-hour of the 9-19-2016 television edition of "The Actor's Choice" ( Episode  2.37  ) and leave comments if they choose!

"The Actor's Choice" after all is an informational performing arts television program about people in the entertainment industry and the choices they have made.
