I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my 18 year old son in an unexpected horrible way 15 years ago and it’s not until now I’m able to talk about it...Yes a foundation, a tribute of some kind was encouraged to me at the time. I was rushed to make a decision to donate his body for medical purposes and told my son would live on through others. I received no recognition for this or knew who I donated to. I was so depressed and half out of my mind trying to set up this Foundation for him asking everyone for help! Then it hit me. I asked myself what would my son want? Then clearly his voice came to me and I heard it in my head. “Mom, I want you to be peaceful and happy!” I knew just then my son is still living in me! I set out to enjoy life, enjoy people, enjoy my work! My foundation is my son’s friends. We often get together and talk about him. I’m always invited to their family gathering’s. I’ve attended their college graduations, their weddings, and became somewhat of a Godmother to their children. I only had one child. If you have other children I suggest your attention goes to them and your family or relatives. These people who open Foundation’s are experts in their business. If it was meant to be then you will have your Foundation.
Knowing you’re an introvert and setting yourself up in the public eye is going to be very difficult especially if you know you’re shy and clam up when it comes to dealing with the public. My suggestion is to take acting classes. You will learn to do method acting where you become the character...

Knowing you’re an introvert and setting yourself up in the public eye is going to be very difficult especially if you know you’re shy and clam up when it comes to dealing with the public. My suggestion is to take acting classes. You will learn to do method acting where you become the character you would like to portray. In turn this will help your sales approach because you will be ‘acting’. You will not be that same shy introvert that you really are. You will become the character of your choice. It takes work but eventually everyone becomes skilled at this art of advertising and becoming a success at whatever they choose to do!

People are always going to copy you if they see there’s money to be made. That’s why it’s so important to come up with new ideas to make yourself unique and more visible as a business owner and yes you will get copied! Step out of your box and start copying ideas from people in different parts of the world. Always be ahead of the game and give your past customers who love your business incentives to help you out and spread the word. It’s amazing what Facebook and Instagram can do in social media. But most importantly, keep your competition in your loop. It’s better to make friends than enemies. This world is based on copy cats! We’ve got to learn to work together and help each other out!
I suggest you ask Dr.Phil. This will bring a lot of interest to potential customers and publicity to your small businesses as far as being on television and his new radio talk show.

I would say another perk about owning my own business is the tax write-offs. Since I’m in the beauty business all the cosmetics I buy is a write-off not to mention when I travel I always take it as a write-off.I hand out business cards to possible clients and possible places I may work and take...

For example my last cruise I took. I spoke to the Spa Manager about possibly teaching Makeup Classes on the ship. Because I talked about my business, the trip became a tax write-off.
You can advertise on the shopping carts at a major grocery store in your area. Rates are reasonable and seen by 100’s of people who shop. I was amazed to see the results especially if the ad is eye catching.

Contact HARO (Help a reporter out). They deal with editorial stories in all major magazines. Also it's up to the publisher on who gets on the front cover. I know Southbay Accent Magazine features local professionals in this area
