About Us

WHO IS JAMBERSON?
Where to start? Well, we started out as three.

James + Amber + Son = Jamberson

We are a family owned business consisting of a husband and wife team ...and a son. The son doesn't really help, but we love him just the same and find constant inspiration in his unusual ways as he grows and works towards being a unique individual and strong young man.

We wanted to incorporate quality, integrity, family values, an appreciation for quiet moments, and our desire to help others into our business structure. Lofty goals, huh? Yes they are, but we packed all of this into one tidy, little tagline, that we operate by; "The world stinks... We help."

We call it the Jamberson Difference. We donate 10% of our total profits to helping others, along with other random acts of kindness and charity along the way.

So, I summed up where we started from, how about where we are heading.

Our small family has started to grow. No, we are not popping out any more babies... but we have grown just the same. Customers and local businesses both, have tried, tested, and developed a love for our handmade aromatherapy products. Customers and businesses both, have shown us support, encouragement, and even faith in our products and our direction to make a difference in ways both big and small. Hand in hand we march forward. Hand in hand we declare, "The world stinks! We help!"

How We Got Started

It started with a stinky bathroom.

(more) Dear Publisher On Pause, I am sorry for your loss, yet I'm hopeful for your future. Looking forward and having goals is truly beneficial when confronted with such a profound loss.  Remember to give yourself plenty of slack, as grief does not always act rationally.   As for the topic at hand, I wanted to weigh in as a graphic designer with over 10 years experience.  I hate to tell people that they cannot accomplish anything that they put their minds to.  From a technical perspective most people can learn the software with a limited amount of proficiency.  Just as I can paint a room decently well, and do some limited landscaping.   I do not believe that I am, nor will ever claim to be a professional painter or landscaper.  It is possible if you have shown an aptitude for figuring out software on your own before, or are really good at following instructions in tutorials.  This is only one side of the challenge though.  I have known many people that could use the full Adobe Creative Suite, but struggled with composition, creativity, typography, among other things when faced with a design gig.  Knowing the software alone does not make one a designer.  One must understand design. As a designer I joke that I draw pictures all day.  The truth being that most people don't understand what a designer does.  Design is much like being an interpreter.  You must figure out what is trying to be conveyed and represent that with a graphical representation that is both eye catching, yet simple to understand quickly.  To do so expertly it requires knowledge of  color theory, typography, composition, basic psychological principles concerning stimulus, photo manipulation, and illustration. I know that my description of design probably seems daunting...I intended it to.  I believe that you are a strong, capable person who could very well learn to design.  I do not, however, believe it would be a good use of your time and could be detrimental to the publishing in the short term.  Having worked with a partner of my own for a few years, I have learned to know my strengths and weaknesses.  My partner balances my deficiencies with her strengths.  Should anything happen to her, I would have to hire someone to replace her as I would not even attempt to pick up all that she does.  Even if I could with enough perseverance, there is only so much that an individual should try to plate.  Whatever you choose to do, I wish you well and luck!  Don't take my advice or that of anyone as the END ALL, BE ALL TRUTH.  You do You.  This is only my opinion with my limited understanding of your situation. It is worth what you paid for it... :)

"Why not?", I asked.  "Because the cat will catch itself on fire...Again." Several older ladies stood around our essential oil candle table. One of them sniffed a candle and declared, "That smells like Mildred!" She then passed the candle along. "Yep, Mildred." The rest agreed. Some of the stories inspire us to keep going... "Last year we only burned your guy's candles." "I look forward to getting home, and lighting the candle. It's me time. And some of the stories tell us that we are changing lives in small ways... "I've worked hard my whole life. Either farming or construction. The doctor diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Your pain salve is helping me get some sleep." "So one of my customers kept buying two of your True Calm Bath Bombs at a time.  When I asked her why she was using them.  She said that she was giving them to an 80 year old cancer patient to help her." "Your Pipe Candle reminds me of my grandpa. He always had his pipe." I guess what I'm saying is my favorite part of my job is you.

Our Fleur de Roast™ Candle has more coffee in it that your morning pot of coffee. Who would have thought, coffee makes for the perfect coffee candle? We start with 40lbs of fresh roasted, Organic, Fair-Trade coffee. Then we take roughly 8 hours to run it through a stainless steel expeller press, rendering pure, undiluted coffee essential oil. It is a labor of love, and it is for you!
