(more) Nick, gave a really good answer.  You generally will need a business liability policy sometimes called a business operations policy (BOP).  Then you will need a commercial auto policy, if you have any vehicles, which most businesses do.  Then you will also need workers compensation insurance if you have employees.  These three types of policies can eat up a chunk of gross profits.  Let along Key Man life insurance, disability insurance, group life insurance and group health insurance for your employees.  So this is a chuck of profits going to insurance coverage.   Like Nick mentioned, not all companies will insure certain businesses, they call that an appetite.  Some companies may insure roofers for example where others would think that category was too dangerous.  Out of the companies that would want your type of business you can then compare benefits and prices.  But most pricing is fixed by the company.  You can add or remove coverage's, but sometimes you can end up shoot yourself in the foot if you try to cut back too much.  Your question is almost too wide to give you a specific example.  But I would recommend staying with an independent agent broker who can shop around for you and give you more choices.
