As one of the major ranking factors that help search engines evaluate websites, citations are extremely beneficial to local businesses hoping to get noticed online. A citation is any mention of a business, usually accompanied by the address and phone number (NAP), on an external website. A common example would be a business listing on Yelp. Review sites like Yelp, or location-based directories can provide citations if the correct address and phone number is listed alongside the business name. Customer reviews are also a valuable ranking factor taken into account by search engines. Getting your online listings submitted to the most important search engine listings, including Yelp, Bing Places and Google My Business will optimize and enhance your local presence so your restaurant business becomes more visible and is more than just a local listing, Your free Google My Business profile lets you manage how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. Registering on these top sites and monitoring your reviews on strong sites like Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, and more is extremely important. Without claiming your listings you are not able to respond to the reviews. When a business receives an unfavorable customer review, the impact is the same whether the complaint is valid or not. One bad review can drag down a business’ rating; multiple negative reviews can tarnish the brand reputation and deter consumers from making purchases. Rather than ignoring negative reviews and hoping they won’t do too much damage, it’s best to respond promptly and professionally. Tips for Responding to Negative Reviews with Tact Respond quickly so the reviewer doesn’t feel ignored. Apologize for the negative experience to defuse the situation. Offer to correct the mistake or reimburse the purchase. Maintain a cool and collected tone. End on a high note, either by emphasizing the business’ desire to remedy the situation or by highlighting anything positive mentioned in the review. In more sensitive or complex situations, try to redirect the exchange from a public forum to a private conversation. Respond to the issue on the review site and politely request that the reviewer contact the business via private message or a customer service phone number. Once the matter is fully resolved, ask if the customer might consider updating the original review to reflect the new positive experience. Our services include creating, claiming and ongoing optimization of local business listings. We make sure that the business’ NAP (name, address and phone number), hours of operation, photos, categories and other details are always accurate on top search engines, directories and top authority sites Our Real Time Data Amplifier network will distribute and publish your data to a broader audience than you could ever reach on your own. We optimize and enhance your local presence, so businesses become more visible. By submitting and monitoring reviews on strong sites like Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, and more. Our directory Partners help business data become more open and accessible so that customers can find the business when they need or want their services.

From my experience as as a marketing consultant what's important is that you are first visible on mobile devices. Your signs and offline materials should utilize QR codes and your web address as most check you out online before entering your store.
