About Us

Our mission across all three campuses is, "Educating and Developing the Whole Person for the Glory of God." Rainier Christian Schools offers childcare, Preschool, K-12 education, Summer day camps, and signature course for homeschool students.

How We Got Started

In 1963, a group of local pastors gathered to discuss the formation of an non-denominational Christian School. They began prayer walks after worship services around a particular parcel--a former NIKE missile base. At first, the answer seemed to be no instead of not yet. They continued to pray and through a series of perfectly timed events and conversations, God provided the parcel to Rainier Christian Schools.

While we did not receive funding in the first round, I want to give a shout out to Lyndi Walls, VP of Relations for Non-Profits and Gov’t at Chase. Lyndi worked tirelessly to push our PPP application through. In the second round, we did receive funding to pay our employees over the next eight weeks. The dollar amount matches payroll needs. At face value, we are able to comply with the forgivable conditions tied to loan. Rainier Christian‘s experience may be an anomaly in working with Chase, but I will sing their praises, and again, give a shout out to Lyndi Wall’s heroic effort.

After asking friends, searching the web, and  buying a book, the best counsel and support  came from Alignable community member, JLT Web Solutions. The ability to direct time and effort efficiently as well as understanding the tools in today’s digital marketing space is critical. Compared to a year ago, I am  getting significantly  more traffic to our website.

We support families with an interest in high-quality, PreK-12th grade education, and view the whole child as much more than a container to pour the right Christian ideas, facts, doctrines into to ensure proper behavior. Our education-based ministry runs wider and deeper, along the lines of Lk 10:27, the greatest commandment, to nurture a child's character, desires, and affections.

This extra information is offered on an internal statistics page. Part of the page is copied below. Getting that level of detail helps determine what is and isn't relevant.

That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirrors leaving dozens of little lip prints.      Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called several of the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the custodian. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every day.          To demonstrate how much work they were making for the custodian, she asked him to clean one of the mirrors while the girls watched.          The custodian took a long-handled brush, dipped it into the nearest toilet, and proceeded to scrub the mirror.          From that day on, the problem of lip prints on the mirrors was completely eliminated.
