"Rick creates beautiful real estate photos with his extensive knowledge of photography, the genre, and his tools. Most real estate photographers are not at his level. If you'd like your house to sell faster and for a higher price then hirer Rick. (He's also a great teacher, too.)"

Answers will vary for each state, country or province. Check with your state's department of revenue (or for an easier answer you might call your secretary of state's consumer information line). There are times when only the tangible goods are taxed. In other places the session fees (an intangible good) are also taxed - especially when packaged with a tangible good (print, album, wall art). Even a thumb drive of digital images is usually taxed. Yet, there are other places where separate intangibles don't need to be taxed. Your local taxing laws will vary – as will your tax rate. Find an accountant or at least a pertinent professional organization with your state. This is a good question. Be sure to apply for a tax ID and note when and how often you need to file your tax information. Good luck! Happy sales and work!

A lot depends upon what you'd like to market. Is it a product or service? Will you be focusing on general practitioners or specialists? In addition to the good answers below, I suggest finding a pertinent association or conference. If you were to rent a table at an annual conference you might have time to discuss your wares or services with physicians while they are away from their practices. In their offices or hospitals their chunks of time are measured in very short blocks -- as their days are very full and accountable to insurance companies. At conferences and trade expos they inherently are open to newer ideas and might be more relaxed and receptive to your ideas, product or service. If you decide to use this tactic be sure to think it through from start to finish. Have a great display and something to lure them to your table or booth. Have both your elevator pitch ready along with ready answers to frequently asked questions. (Their time will be limited.) Most importantly, be sure to have printed or product marketing collateral with full contact information. Offer to follow through with them (when appropriate), and capture as much of their contact info as you can. Best to you,-- Connie
