In my experience, you will have people genuinely disintrested in the well being of the business no matter what their pay rate.  One should also consider the turn over rate. If you can get 2-3 consistent/invested staff members, you save on training new employees and keep those who know your business. Also those two- three people can more than likely do more than 5-6 minimum wage staff members, so there is savings in the hire wage. Minimum wage is a base for first time employees. If you are looking to keep staff who know your business, I would give them incentive based raises.  With us, everyone starts just above minimum wage, and depending on their performance and value added to the business, we give them a raise 4-6  months in.  This is outlined with expectation levels. They know that they working towards an end goal. We give weekly (informal)  performace reviews. It also helps if the owners are an intergral part of operations. We are very hands on and we treat staff like family. Its the attitude of fair treatment with potential for advancement that keeps people. Those that don't want to work towards advancement, generally leave. Its a culture that has to be created by the owners and managers.

I would develop a catering menu and market them together. We market a lot thru social media. While we do not offer catering services in the restaurant, we offer mini menus. Our food is made from scratch and cooked at the time of order, as such, we do not offer buffets. Mini menus work great for us.  (more) I would develop a catering menu and market them together. Price too low for $7. Unless they were powdered eggs Need to make sure staffing matches sales volume. Both cases, they are not aware of the prime cost for running the restaurant. Hard to have any profit in the restaurant industry if you are not monitoring cost of goods and labor. (more) Price too low for $7. We provide samples of some of our most popular dishes and soups. Guests generally buy after tasting. We also serve half portions during lunch as well.  (more) We provide samples of some of our most popular dishes and soups. Guests generally buy after tasting. If you have worked with a few clients, I would suggest offering a free consultation of your services. Start with your local business associations to network. Small businesses tend to support each other. I would ask for referrals and contact them directly for consultations. Its always about who you know.
