I am second generation family owned business. My father started in 1956. I worked part time with him from 1966 till 1979. When I graduated High School. Full time employee till 1990 when I bought H M Von Sas & Son. Later incorporated to an LLC. My Son Matthew (Third generation) & partner currently not participating with day to day operations. 2000 - 2014.

Being diverse is better than specializing in one thing. Repeat business is the indication of a terrific relationship with your client. Know when your above your capacity and find resources around it. Witch quite often leads to more working relationships. Becoming the go to guy is priceless. And most of all billing. Long term relationships can loosen the clients pocket book. That doesn’t mean your entitled to empty it. This is a two way relationship. Your client also has to respect payment needs to be timely as well.
