Unless sole proprietorship, are able to get funding support, then there will never be full recovery. In a positive business environment, individuals risk starting a business and many with no employees. If they fail then bankruptcies will hit creditors and they will not attempt a restart. It has not yet effected our business but easily can. We are suppliers of promotional products which depends on a robust business environment. Spring is a traditional trade show season for example and if businesses are not attending shows then they won't purchase promotional items. (more) It has not yet effected our business but easily can. Revenue was up but roughly equivalent to projections. Some orders in the works for 2020 so it is hoped that expansion will continue. (more) Revenue was up but roughly equivalent to projections. Some orders in the works for 2020 so it is hoped that expansion will continue.

There has been some movement toward USA made products as a result (perhaps) of the China tariffs. Many suppliers absorbed the cost increases but that is not a sustainable approach. That does not mean don't dream big, it means don't exceed a start up level that you can successfully fulfill with quality. I recently attended a restaurant's expansion into a new facility, where they could handle more customers and make more money. They ran out of spoons and customers were trying to eat soup with forks and then drink the broth from the bowl. Many walked out; all grumbled. Although an established business, (another location) they tried to exceed their reach and did not have trained staff to give a positive first experience. Many businesses start out with a single entrepreneur with a really great idea but, when it becomes an actual business operation it needs quality, caring personnel that can carry that idea forward in the manner that the owner intended. My employees told me they had fun coming to work. My customers told me they had fun coming to my store. One emotion carries over to the other. Quality training emanates from the owner and needs to include logical vision so that employees can provide quality service and thereby build brand loyalty.  No person is an island and neither is a business. Surround yourself with quality staff and the island will be a harbor that your customers seek out.

It can be a revenue generating opportunity as well in that products can be sold with corporate sponsors purchasing space. Take the T-shirt for example. An imprinted T is kept an average of 5 years and is seen thousands of times. Put your organization on the front and the sponsors on the back.  Tumblers can be sold the same with sponsor space sold.  Selling to sponsors help expand the base of those that support your organization and there is a good chance they have influence within the schools that you are trying to reach. It also gives you revenue that allows you to have a larger presence in the community.
