Many times she will tell me what to do and next thing I know a problem is solved. We have moved many emotional blocks, which has helped me, my personal life, and my business. I highly recommend her."

I believe you or whoever is doing this logo needs to go back to the drawing board. Please know, that I am not saying that in an insulting demeaning way.
I see marketing in your title, but I see a dog as well. This can be very confusing for the consumer. I cannot figure out if you are into a veterinarian work, or marketing, or both.
The point I am trying to help you understand is the message of your logo needs to be clear, concise, and recognizable in seconds. Don't make your consumers think. Good examples are Nike, and Apple among many others. This will require some research to understand and I will say it should never be something that is done in a rush. Many blessings and I wish you all the best. Feel free to reach out if you still need help as branding and logos is something I do.
I do both as there is nothing like a divine appointment with someone that has a need that I can fulfill.

I have not started to do any cold calls, but have thought about cold calling at some point, like maybe once a week. I thought if I do, it would be like an introduction to me and what I do. Also, I could ask if they have any design or branding needs, and perhaps try to follow up from time to time afterward. Also, I thought about physically visiting businesses too. Presently, I have not reached that point yet as I have so much to do and focus on. I find it is all a work in progress. I am planning on doing this possibly in the fall after I see how a couple of other things that I have lined up play out. I have a friend that does what you do and he goes to a lot of networking events like Microsoft and Open Source and people always flock to him and at times he gets work that way.
I'm sorry, but this sounds like lying to people and I am not going to tell people what they want to hear when something is wrong, but to break this down on how I believe it is in the design world:

I'm sorry, but this sounds like lying to people and I am not going to tell people what they want to hear when something is wrong, but to break this down on how I believe it is in the design world:
1- Encourage their dreams
1. I always encourage peoples dreams, but only if through design it is realistically possible within a timeframe given.
2- justify their failures
2.When it comes to justifying someone's failures, if there is a failure in a design and provided they will listen, I can justify that failure with knowledge that I possess about design.
3- Allie their fears
3. The way I would calm their fears would be by showing them examples and explaining my process to them and make sure that I answer all of their questions.
4- confirm their suspicions
4. I can confirm their suspicions if they are accurate. I will know from a design standpoint if their is something for them to be suspicious about. Something of this nature may take some research.
5- help them throw rocks at their enemies
Personally, I do not like this statement because I am not going to help anyone throw rocks at their enemies, but I prefer to think of this as "how to beat their competition" because in essence that is what I do when branding or designing something. I would help someone stand out from their competition.

In my design industry I think the biggest misconception is that we charge too much for work that everyone thinks is, "easy." It's "NOT," and we rarely ever get paid enough, and many times people do not have a clue about what it should cost and how much work and energy goes into a project, that is if they want it done correctly. Oh, and they want it as fast as possible too. lol

It would also be helpful if we could easily drop and drag our images where we want into our portfolio as that has been a huge holdup for me because I have to figure out which ones to put in first since I need my best work to be displayed first and last in my portfolio. With this system what you put in is where it will be, there is no option to move it in front or in back of another image. I had to delete everything and start over and I have to say it is very inconvenient. We need more freedom than this, plus, it saves time, which is exactly why mine is not done. Ugh
