I would definitely go with WordPress. It's a very SEO-friendly platform, and the options for customization are endless. It is also easy enough that you can manage it yourself, or you can find many, many people who are well-versed in doing updates for you. Wix is fine; I have clients on that platform though almost all of them have since migrated over to WordPress. If you can, I'd start with WordPress.
