Do you think documenting my journey as a photographer is worth the time it takes?
Answered by:
I think that documenting your photographic journey can be worthwhile to other photographers especially young photographers who are just starting out. It can also be worthwhile for you – providing that it doesn't become labor intensive and affect your ability to make a living. Perhaps you could monetize your documentary which would give you another stream of income. Either way, there is pros and cons to documenting your journey and I think it would be worthwhile.

Antonio --- All your commentary shows a comprehensive understanding regarding this "journey" issue. Some of the responses miss a significant aspect of the time factor for this arduous task, and that there is no real payback.
The payback is derived from face-to-face with other professionals. That is what professional organizations are all about. To be accepted by a professional group one needs a portfolio to prove they are a worthy professional. Once part of that organization, one can talk "journey" to their heart's content.
If no organization is available, then one can find local professionals for talk face-to-face. A journey can only have value in a verbal exchange, not old photos or written narrative.
I'm available to talk "journey" with anyone, any time.
