Yelp is not where I would put my money. If your business & location are fully driven by Yelp & not Google (or any other review site) then I would have no choice but to work with them. If you do choose to work with Yelp make sure you know the review & posting process inside & out. Keep your listing up to date by adding pictures and good descriptions of what you do. You can ask your customers to leave reviews on Google and any other site that offers reviews for your type of business. With all the companies that offer review invite services you can ask for what you want instead of getting random feedback organically.

Family business is a puzzle. Sometimes all the pieces fit perfectly & sometimes it's like you're cutting the pieces to fit. Personally, I am loving being in my family business. I see my family everyday. They will pitch in or help you on your projects if you're having a bad day. It's easier to be your true self & not worry about what they might think. Of course family dynamics come in to play but as long as the head of the company can keep it professional everyone should be able to follow that example. It can be difficult to separate business from personal. There are times you have to remember to take a deep breath & treat them as coworkers at work. If you wouldn't say it to a coworker should you really being saying it to a family member? The best part is family will work hard to work things out with each other vs. quitting & leaving you in a bind.
