Not sure if this follows in the US, but in Canada architects and designers have a legal "obligation of result" for their drawings and specifications. Only the builder has an "obligation of result" for the construction. Practically all are in the same boat however, because if you're not working... Only the builder has an "obligation of result" for the construction. Practically all are in the same boat however, because if you're not working together, the chances of an unsuccessful outcome are radically higher, and so is the risk for all concerned.

In general, yes.  But it depends on whether the service person seems open to hearing the news. If the service is not up to the feedback (you can tell, pretty much right away), then I just don't go back. You rarely get a good result by saying something. I worked for decades in restaurants.... (more) In general, yes.  But it depends on whether the service person seems open to hearing the news. If the service is not up to the feedback (you can tell, pretty much right away), then I just don't go back. You rarely get a good result by saying something. I worked for decades in restaurants. Service is so important. A great server can transform an awful food experience into an acceptable, even a great one, by listening sincerely and then delivering quality. Unfortunately, even great food cannot correct truly awful service. And very few people give feedback to an awful service person. Life is too short for the conflict and awkwardness that ensues.
