Most importantly, if you are working, you are blessed and it beats the best hospital you could be in. Count your blessings.  (more) Most importantly, if you are working, you are blessed and it beats the best hospital you could be in. Count your blessings.

If you run into a particularly large job for your company, and it’s going to put your company in a bind, many times big companies will pay at least a portion up front if asked. That’s certainly not unusual. Sometimes you have to stand your ground. There are a few instances where I have had to tell the customer, We are X Company not XBank and Trust. I need my money. Payment terms up front in writing SIGNED is very important.

No, not that I'm cheap but I don't want to get something like that started. Some day we may be 100 employees. Then what do you do? It's easy to be personal when your small. Not so easy when your big. Always plan for the future. (more) No, not that I'm cheap but I don't want to get something like that started. Some day we may be 100 employees. Then what do you do? Traditionally a very dependable piece of equipment. After a few months it was repaired under warranty at no cost. We even loaned them an identical scale for free. They call back a few months later complaining it was unstable. We respond and find a fan blowing on it. {NO CHARGE} They call again a couple of months later and tell us it’s not counting right. We right away respond to find out they are using it wrong. We teach, again (NO CHARGE) the guy starts claiming he’s had nothing but trouble and wants his money back. We recreated this entire escapade for him and my answer was no. Pick your battles wisely. The customer is not always right.

Hoosier Scale does. We all work together, we all make money. As for being good or bad, the employees have a lot to do with that. Our employees are great at it and we appreciate their efforts. Short meet and greet. Get your basic information in the hands of the customer. Never fail to get a business card or at least get an email and phone number. Gve great caution in trying to hard. You could come across as pushy or perhaps a know it all. Harold Mindlin’s advise is very sound as well. Trust those whom you hire without relinquishing command. A once year call to our main contact. We rely on our staff that services the customer on a regular basis to always look for opportunities to provide more services. This doesn’t appear to be pushy or even perhaps greedy. (more) A once year call to our main contact.
