If not you will want to get one designed.  Join BNI (Business Network International) in your area.  This organization will have only one person per occupation.  So check where you live and Google BNI.  Visit the various chapters to see if they are in need of a plumber.   Hope this helps and good luck!

I would think not only wasn't the raise discussed but why  were you the one designated to take over this territory?  Was it because of your past performance or do you think that it was a hidden agenda?  Also, how long was this territory vacant and what are the problems that the previous sale rep encountered? In addition, if  HR was involved they would have had a discussion with your manager based on some of the concerns that I mentioned above.  You would have been given written goals/metrics that you would be responsible for achieving.   Back to the raise that was promised are you salary plus commission? Straight commission? or salary?  This should have been spelled out and in writing.  I hope this gets worked out for you.  Best of luck.

I would say  that training is a good way to retain employees as well as keeping them engaged.  To me training indicates that the employer values their employees and want them to successful in their positions.  Hope this helps. (more) Hello Doug, The ultimate goal of any company is to provide a safe work environment for their employees.  Since I work as an HR consultant, I recommend that my clients have seminars and drills on such things as fire, earthquake and active shooter.  In addition, if an employee is having problems with a boyfriend or husband, we suggest that they let us know.  We like to get the make and model of the car they drive as well as a picture of that person.  We have also suggested that they go and get a restraining order.  Again to reiterate the key point is to provide a safe work environment for all employees. Maintain a phone/email list of your local police and fire departments/911 and make sure all employees have that emergency information in their phones.  Above all make sure that if  your employees see something that they say something.   Hope this helps.

(more) Hello Jeffrey,  I think implementing health/wellness programs is an excellent idea. Sometimes you will encounter a very good employee whose productivity starts to slack. You wonder why this is happening.  Many employees are experiencing stress and trauma on a daily basis. They don't know where to turn and as a result their work starts to suffer.  Having wellness programs to address these concerns is of the utmost importance. Implementing an EAP is always a great start. These programs are confidential and provide an outlet for employees to speak with an individual who is not really part of the organization.  Another good idea is to have brown bag lunch sessions where employees can learn of resources available for caregiving, child care, and financial information.  In addition, some companies have set up programs for weight loss or stopping smoking as well as working with health and fitness centers.  Hope this helps!   Thank you.
