The bulk of my residential business since I joined Berkshire Hathaway has been helping first time homebuyers.

Being able to help young people manage the process and seeing the celebration of success makes it the most rewarding. Often my accounting degree and knowledge of financing and contracts is more important than my real estate experience.

Before we ever look at a home we discuss the process, they are advised about the multiple offer market, I arrange time with our in house mortgage professional and advise then to get pre approved not just qualified.

I also let them know about all the financial and psychological levers in an offer.  I let them know this is their process and it can take as much or as little time as they require.

it's important to let the first time homebuyer know you understand their objectives, the market and the process. One engaged we communicate almost every day, they need to know their transaction is the most important thing I am working on. It takes lots of time, effort and encouragement but the look on their faces after closing makes it all worth it.

I really live what I do.
