What's the best answer to, "Your competitor quoted me a lower price?"

Yes negotiation is appropriate although we write estimates based on what we see and estimates are subject to change. In this industry some shop do low ball to get the job but then add a larger supplements as needed. I not sure I would call a bluff. As far as being fair. Are goal is to write estimates based on what we see and complete the repairs as needed for the Company, Customer and our Name. We believe in "right" and at the end of the repair we want you to have a great repair which does not exceed it's value.
I do understand there are different needs. When my daughters went to college I purchased repairable vehicles and complete the repairs using after market parts that may not have fit perfectly and not the same grade of metal as OEM but I wanted to save money for the need. Although there was a compromise on the cosmetic panels, the structure or integrity of the overall repair was not compromised.
Thanks so much for the inquiry. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to call me xxx-xxx-xxxx
