I think all the pieces of advice you've received has been great. The one piece of advice I'd give you is to determine what your overall VISION is for the business. Many partnerships are started on the basis of necessity (e.g. needed capital, scale, customer acquisition etc) and that's fine however if both parties don't align on the overall VISION for the business...it will be an unhappy marriage.

Solidify your VISION 1st...then search for a like-minded "visionary.
