That you cant pinch pennies when starting to build a business. Most people starting out, will allocate resources for purchasing/renting location and remodeling costs for the initial set up. What they fail to take in to account is that you will need working capital to STOCK and carry ample selection of products for several months till you start generating some revenue. products have to be appealing- wether in price selection or display.
For example- a 24 hr fruit store spent a TON of money to set up a gorgeous store. They had beautiful and tasty fruit initially, but they hesitated to throw out old fruits and were slow to restock due the fact that they had spent all the $ on set up. They had to close after a short while. They didn't allow for the funds needed to continue in business .
Go a bit lo-tech retro. I think you should set up displays of your work in a "traveling show". I mean fairs school or community functions, flea markets, fireman-community affairs etc. Have pamphlets and card of your website so that they can pass on to friends . Take pictures of your work and...

Take pictures of your work and make posters of them for strategic placement with website on bottom. Kodack and many of picture developing sites do banners.
