Step into your spotlight with bravery and creativity! Garden Players, local Forest Hills musical theater program for kids (with private lessons for all ages), is now available online to all. Garden Players kids have been growing up, going to La Guardia HS of Performing Arts, Frank Sinatra HS, graduating from performing arts colleges, and becoming performers, writers, speakers, leaders, and directors of their own. Led by NYC professional performer, writer and educator Betina Hershey, focus is on acting improv, vocal techniques, musicality, choreography, writing, and putting on original musicals. Many of these original musicals, written for and inspired by the Garden Players kids, are published by Beat by Beat Press and with over 2,000 performances in over 65 countries around the world.

Garden Players started out as a community theater group in 1902 and transformed into a musical theater program for kids in 2002 when Betina Hershey turned down a musical theater tour to become the current leader and artistic director. Every year Betina leads kids towards creative bravery through acting improv, singing, acting, movement and performing an original musical each year, inspired by the kids in the group. Parents, kids, professionals, and community members come together to put together an exciting, original show with a top notch NYC band, lights, costumes, sets, and theater magic!
