“How did you go from a career in nursing to accounting?” This is a question I get asked all the time, and for me, bookkeeping was a natural progression. I have had an affinity for math, details, precision, and numbers for as long as I can remember. In fact, these interests, along with service, are what drew me into a nursing career.
After nearly a decade of providing direct patient care, I ventured into the world of entrepreneurship by starting an anesthesia business. This experience ignited my interest in accounting, as I delved into understanding the financial aspects of running a business.
I discovered that I love double-entry bookkeeping, financial statements, and the accounting equation. Bookkeeping puts the puzzle pieces together in a neat and orderly fashion, painting a picture out of financial data points.
Ultimately, these interests and experiences led me to launch Velostone Bookkeeping Solutions.
