I like the reduced pressure of being in my own environment and not having to deal with the "rat race" of springing out of bed, dealing with traffic and driving into the office, etc. 

At various times I've been both full time self-employed and full-time employed at an office and other times somewhere in between.

What I have found works best for me is a mix... days at the office and days at home. If I am always at home, my self-discipline can fail and I can be a hermit. At the same time, I chafe at the standard M-F, 9-5 in an office work structure. It just mentally fatigues me and a day working remote at home can recharge my mojo.
