About Us

We maintain a showroom with nearly 100 different mirrors either on display or in stock. We work with interior designers to create custom mirrors (given sufficient lead times) for their clients.

How We Got Started

I have a history of working in Import and Distribution dating back to the '80's when I was involved in the Satellite TV wholesale trade. My wife was the CEO of a mirror factory in China for approximately 8 years. Her ex-employer asked us to help increase her market share in North America.

I used to bicycle from the North Shore to Yaletown everyday (rain or shine) while working in an office.  I always towelled off while changing to office attire.  If I was continuing to sweat I'd occasionally use the shower that was available.  So either everyone was super polite (to another low level office worker) or my routine was sufficient to control any BO.  (Or perhaps my sweat doesn't smell that strongly; I don't eat meat other than seafood).  I never had anyone even hint about the "atmosphere" in my office (and I often shared it with other employees). One of the staff I shared the space with was brought in from our Spanish branch.  He was an extremely good looking young man that the young women in the office were gushing about.  Strangely, he never got very far with any of them.  After sharing the workspace with him for a short time I was pretty sure I knew why.  Whether it was breath or BO, I don't know but his presence changed the atmosphere in my workspace to the point that whenever one of the other offices came free for a day, I switched offices.  After being in our office six months he was rotated back to Spain and there was a send-off lunch in his honor.  When he got up to speak he mentioned he'd not gotten "lucky" during his time in Vancouver.  He emailed me a week or two after returning home and mentioned he had a new girlfriend.  So that got me thinking about different cultures having different acceptances of certain types of body orders. I've always felt a little bad for not telling him that he needed to pay more attention to personal hygiene if he wanted to be more successful with the ladies.  My experience is that getting that personal with workmates usually results in creating distance, rather than closeness.  It seemed to me that the receiver of my honesty felt embarrassed or ashamed and withdrew.  Unless it was absolutely necessary I'd avoid the issue rather than risk driving a wedge between a co-worker and myself.

(more) Know your strengths and focus on what you do best.  This timeless advice applies to everyone, but especially introverts.  I considered myself an introvert until my early 30's when I began exploring myself through Personal Development Courses.  Then being in a sales role I pushed myself to engage with others.  For example - working a booth in a trade show; I would speak to people walking down the aisle if it appeared they intended to bypass my booth.  I would find something about them to comment on and if they responded I'd invite them into my booth to check out my products.  Out in public I would occasionally engage with a stranger for a short conversation.  Through pushing myself to reach out to others my introverted aspect became barely noticeable. So yes, I am simply phrasing in a different manner that you need to "get out and network".  It's unlikely anyone will do this for you and if someone does they are doing you a disservice. You need to learn how to break free of your self imposed bonds.  If you're challenged in speaking up then I strongly recommend "ToastMasters".  I participated in ToastMasters for nearly two years and it cured me of the catatonia I used to feel when I had to get up in front of a room full of people and make a presentation.

Cash will always hold a place in our economy.  It is after all anonymous, and that doesn't necessarily mean bad or illegal.  Sometimes cash is a pain but for a small business it also comes at a lower cost than credit cards.   (more) Cash will always hold a place in our economy.  It is after all anonymous, and that doesn't necessarily mean bad or illegal.  Sometimes cash is a pain but for a small business it also comes at a lower cost than credit cards.
