About Us

Helene Bertrand is a family physician who, while injecting mannitol around painful nerves found that the pain would disappear before the needle was out of the skin. As people don’t like needles, she got together with Marylene Kyriazis, Pharm.D. and they created QR cream. QR cream is a unique topical pain reliever whose active ingredient is mannitol, a natural sugar derivative which has been shown to prevent nerves from sending pain signals to the brain. It has relieved the pain from shingles, the itch of psoriasis and insect bites and stings, the pain of arthritis, headaches, and is being tested in a randomized controlled study on people with peripheral neuropathy (burning feet) from diabetes.
