Fournier Foot Care Center was established in 1980 in the village of Florence, MA. Mark Fournier is a fourth generation shoe repair / shoe modification craftsman. In 1983 he was schooled in the art of manufacturing hand crafted Orthopedic shoes for severe foot deformities and awarded the title of O.S.T. ( Orthopedic Shoe Technician). In the years to follow his training and continued education led to his certification of a Master Technician and Certified Pedorthist. We evaluate feet and structural Bio Mechanical movement of the body, Gait Analysis, and determine the best course of action for the client. In most cases our clients have seen their Primary Physician and perhaps followed a path of other Medical Avenues before we see them, while other clients come to see us directly. In the evaluation process if we believe that a particular service is needed in conjunction with ours we recommend that to the client and proceed from there.

It was a natural course for me to evolve into this practice. My past experience in this field was very intriguing to me as my Grandfather had Infantile Paralysis, (Polio) and therefor practiced special shoe modifications and alterations in his own shoe repair business. As a fourth generation shoe repair professional I expanded my education into the field of Pedorthics and in doing this I "fulfilled" a dream of my fathers. He had always wanted to bring the family art to the next level and with his help and encouragement I have reached that goal.
